Agriculture & Resource Management

The agriculture and resource management department provides educational programs for farmers, home gardeners, and turf, nursery, and landscape professionals.  Faculty and staff help clients develop and implement production, management, and marketing practices that are profitable, environmentally sound, and socially acceptable.  Customer-oriented services include soil testing, plant and weed identification, disease and insect diagnosis, and insect identification. Information is provided to residents through a variety of means including workshops, newsletters, publications, telephone inquiries, and websites.

Fruit and Vegetable Educational Programs

North Jersey Commercial Vegetable Grower Meeting

This educational event typically occurs in mid-late February and features presentations on new developments related to vegetable production, integrated pest management, and direct marketing.  Speakers include NJAES faculty and staff, growers, and agribusiness professionals.

North Jersey Commercial Fruit Grower Meeting

This educational event typically occurs in mid-late February and features presentations on new developments related to fruit production, integrated pest management, and direct marketing.  Speakers include NJAES faculty and staff, growers, and agribusiness professionals.

Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Grower Twilight Meetings

Several evening events are held during the production season on grower farms and at NJAES research and extension facilities.  These meetings focus on current pest, production, and marketing issues and features tours of production fields and research plots.

Plant and Pest Advisory
